Listen & Imagine

Mvmt 1: The Idea / The Plan

Mvmt 2: The Creation

Mvmt 3: The First Flight

The Celebration of First Flight is based on the idea, development, and success of the Wright Brothers dreams to take to the sky! The opener begins with a percussive/rhythmic drive that culminates to the big “Ah Ha!” moment that it could be possible for man to fly! From there, it progresses to the development of the blueprints on how the flying machine could actually be built. As the show progresses to the ballad, you will get a sense of pride as the machine starts to develop and take shape leading to a beautiful release as the final part is put into place. The closer moves into that fateful yet chaotic day of first flight and you will immediately feel a sense of urgency and panic as the flying machine heads down the track. The ultimate release comes in at 12 counts of silence, signifying the 12 seconds of flight that lead into a joyous celebration of a successful flight and landing. Your students and audience will appreciate the journey you take them on when you perform Aviation – The Celebration of First Flight.
